Rox De Luca is an artist based in Bondi working on unceded Gadigal land.
Her art practice converts found marine and industrial single-use plastics via jewellery-like processes in order to explore ideas of consumption and waste and our neglect of the environments around us.
For over three decades Rox De Luca has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions.
Recent presentations include in 2024, Recirculate at McGlade Gallery, Australian Catholic University, Strathfield, Beauty runs the Gauntlet at the Bondi Pavilion Gallery, and previously in 2023 Plastic - Unwrapping the World, Wagga Wagga Art Gallery, Slot Window , and Cut N Polish at Carriageworks. In 2022 her work was selected for the Fremantle Arts Centre exhibition Hundreds and Thousands. In 2023 De Luca was a finalist in the Northern Beaches Environmental Art and Design Prize exhibition at the Manly Art Gallery and Museum. The artist has also collaborated with the Sydney Art Quartet, Social Good Summit, and Plastic-free Kandos. In 2024 the artist is the inaugural Artist in Residence with Orlebar Brown - who commissioned a major work for their Martin Place store and she was also awarded a Waverly Council Bondi Road Studio. Previous residency engagements include Woollahra Redleaf and Fremantle Arts Centre.
De Luca received a Bachelor of Arts (Visual) from Canberra School of Art (1985) and a Graduate Diploma in Arts Administration, University of NSW (1988).
